Santa Cruz For Bernie Fights for Local Democratic Party's Future | Good Times Jan 28, 2020
We are part of a coalition that seeks to win a progressive majority on the Santa Cruz County Democratic Party Central Committee (DCC), the county arm of the California Democratic Party.
We want a local Central Committee that is more clearly committed to bold policy like a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, College for All, getting money out of politics, a welcoming and safe America for all, workplace democracy, and expansion of Social Security, as championed by the Bernie Sanders campaign. We also support the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) struggle for wage justice at UCSC.
Our candidates are local activists and organizers, working and retired people, university students and lifelong Santa Cruz County residents. We are union organizers, nurses, teachers, environmental advocates and social workers. Some of us are incumbents who have already begun working to redirect the Central Committee towards more progressive democratic outcomes.
The Santa Cruz County Democratic Party Central Committee is our county's arm of the California Democratic Party. The local Central Committee works to endorse and help elect Democratic candidates at every level for public office, conduct voter outreach and engagement, provide civics opportunities on shared democratic values and help move our democratic agenda forward.
We are running candidates in all five Supervisor Districts; our full slate is listed below. Click on a district name to see details about the candidates.

Not all of us will appear on your ballot, only those of us in your County Supervisorial district (see map below). You will be able to vote for those of us who are in your district. There are five open seats in Districts 1, 3 and 5; four open seats in District 2 and two open seats in District 4. Please vote for all of us, so we can make a meaningful change toward progress for this county.
